Benefits

Washington Trust makes a substantial investment in providing a competitive benefit package that offers income security, financial planning and protection, and opportunities for professional and personal development.

401(k) Plan

Our 401(k) Plan features employee pre-tax contributions and a generous employer contribution. Participants are vested in Bank contributions after two years.

Medical Insurance

Comprehensive medical insurance benefits are offered. The plan offers a higher level of coverage at the nationwide network of providers, but gives participants the freedom to use any provider for most services.

Dental Insurance

Comprehensive dental insurance benefits are offered. The plan provides coverage for preventative, minor restorative, major restorative, periodontal and orthodontia services.

Cash in Lieu of Benefits

The Bank offers cash in lieu of benefits to employees with medical and/or dental insurance from another source.

Flexible Spending Accounts

The Bank offers Medical and Dependant Care Reimbursement accounts, which feature significant tax savings on eligible expenses.

Employee Life Insurance

The Bank provides paid life and accidental death and dismemberment (“AD&D”) insurance to both full and part-time employees.

Spouse and Dependent Life Insurance

Employees have the option to purchase spouse and dependent life insurance coverage.

Long Term Disability Insurance

Full-time employees receive company-paid long term disability insurance which provides financial protection in the event of a long term absence from work as a result of an illness or injury.

Stock Purchase Plan

All employees are eligible to participate in the Washington Trust Bancorp, Inc. Dividend Reinvestment Plan through payroll.

Adoption Assistance Plan

Eligible employees will be reimbursed for qualified expenses incurred while adopting a child or children under the age of 18.

Employee Assistance & Work/Life Services

Washington Trust offers an employee assistance program through LifeWorks®. This confidential resource is available to assist employees and families with any problem that may arise, including family and relationship problems, emotional strain, addiction, work stress, financial concerns, and personal legal concerns.

Wellness Program

We value the health and welfare of our employees and their families, and take a proactive approach to wellness. We are proud to offer a number of wellness initiatives including smoking cessation incentives, health screenings, flu shots, and wellness seminars.

Employee Banking Services

Employees receive reduced rates or waived fees on a number of banking services including checking accounts, internet banking, mortgages, installment loans, traveler’s checks, bank checks and wire transfers.

Paid Time Off

Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for paid vacation. In addition, full-time employees enjoy paid holidays.

Flexible Work Arrangements

The Bank realizes that employees have many priorities within their private lives. Managers are encouraged to be flexible with employees on work start and stop times, consider job sharing proposals, and allow reduced workweeks, such as the popular 32 hour full-time work week.

Incentive Compensation

In addition to offering a competitive base salary, the Bank offers a number of incentive compensation plans, depending on position, which reward the employee for strong performance.

Educational Assistance Program

Full-time employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement for pre-approved undergraduate and graduate courses.
