General Information:

How do I contact Customer Service?

Representatives are available to assist with inquiries at Washington Trust branch locations or by contacting our Account Information Center at 800-475-2265. Our hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM or Friday from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM.

What is my routing number?

The routing number for all Washington Trust Checking and Savings accounts is 011500858.

How do I update my contact information?

Contact information may be updated by accessing Personal Online Banking or contacting our Account Information Center at 800-475-2265. Within Personal Online Banking, your contact information may be updated by selecting the Forms Menu, then selecting the Change of Address form.

How do I update my legal name?

A change of legal name may be processed at any Washington Trust branch location. A valid state issued ID or Driver's License accompanied by an appropriate legal document will be required for all change of name requests. For additional information, please contact our Account Information Center at 800-475-2265.

How do I close my account?

Washington Trust appreciates the opportunity to assist with your financial needs. As we are consistently looking for ways to improve our service, we would love to hear from you! Please contact our Account Information Center at 800-475-2265 to speak with a representative today.

What is Washington Trust's holiday schedule?

Washington Trust branch locations will be closed on the following dates. With the exception of Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, Washington Trust's McQuade's supermarket branch locations will be open from 10 AM until 2 PM on all bank holidays.

How may I make a deposit to my account?

Deposits may be processed to any Washington Trust account by visiting a Washington Trust branch location. A deposit may also be processed by visiting a Washington Trust branch location ATM Terminal after hours. Funds may also be transmitted electronically to your account as a Direct Deposit or Wire Transfer from another financial institution. If you are not able to process a deposit at a Washington Trust branch location or through electronic means, you may send a check or money order with a deposit slip to the following address for credit to your account.

Debit Card

I've lost my Debit Card, how do I cancel the card to prevent fraudulent activity?

During Business Hours:
Debit or ATM Cards may be cancelled during business hours by contacting our Account Information Center or by visiting any Washington Trust branch location. Representatives are available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM or Friday from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
After Business Hours:
After business hours, please dial 401-348-1200 or 800-475-2265. When prompted, select option 3 to report the loss or theft of a Debit or ATM card. Please contact Washington Trust the following business day to have a new Debit card ordered.

How do I activate my Debit Card

Once a new Debit Card has been received, the card may be activated by inserting the card into a ATM Terminal. The PIN associated with the card may then be entered to process the activation. A simply Balance Inquiry or ATM withdrawal may be processed to complete the activation process.

How long will it take to receive a new Debit Card?

Debit Cards are typically received within 7 to 10 business days from the date of request. The card is sent in a plain white envelope without reference to The Washington Trust Company for security purposes. A PIN will also be sent in conjunction with the card and should be received shortly before or after the card.

Online Banking

I am unable to access my Online Banking. How do I have my Online Banking access reset?

Online Banking access may be reset by selecting the Forgotten Password link offered through Online Banking. A verification of the request will be completed by correctly answering the established security questions. If you continue to experience difficulty with resetting your Online Banking or are unable to recall your security questions, please contact our Account Information Center. Representatives are available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM or Friday from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM.

How do I sign up for Online Statements? Can I waive the mailing of my monthly paper statements?

Statements are available to all Personal Online Banking customers by accessing the Online Statements menu. Once the Terms & Conditions have been accepted, bank statements will be available through Online Banking on a monthly basis. The mailing of paper statements may be cancelled by accessing User Options and updating the current Online Statement Options to waive the mailing on a monthly basis.

Wire Transfers

What is Washington Trust's SWIFT code?

The Washington Trust Company does not hold a SWIFT code as wire transfer received from international locations must first be processed through a clearing house. When sending an international wire, the sending bank will be able to locate an appropriate clearing house based on Washington Trust's wire instructions.

What fees are associated with processing a wire transfer from or to my Washington Trust account?

Fees may be assessed when processing a Domestic or International Wire Transfer. Wire fees are as follows:

Domestic (incoming) wire transfer $12.99
Domestic (incoming) wire transfer with advice $19.99
Domestic (outgoing) wire transfer $19.99
Domestic (outgoing) wire transfer with advice $26.99
Foreign (incoming) wire transfer $13.00
Foreign (outgoing) wire transfer $35.00 plus expenses
