Kent, a former senior vice president and chief investment officer of Citizens Bank, joined Washington Trust Investors as vice president & investment officer. He is responsible for managing investment portfolios for Washington Trust Wealth Management’s clients and is located at 68 South Main Street, Providence, RI.

During his tenure at Citizens, Kent managed the Company’s investment division, with $4.6 billion under management. He also served as portfolio manager for high net worth and institutional clients. Kent, who also served at Fleet Financial Group, has more than 20 years of investment and financial management experience.

Viewed as an industry expert, Kent has appeared on TV news shows, as a keynote speaker for numerous conferences, and in publications of articles on investment topics. He has frequently appeared in Boston Business Journal articles and as a regular contributor to NBC 10 Weekly Business Wrap-Up. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Newhouse School, Syracuse University and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island. Kent is a member of the CFA Institute and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, is former chairman of the Child Lead Action in Providence, and is on the board of directors for VNA of Care New England. He and his family live in Cranston.
