Westerly, Rhode Island... The Washington Trust Company is kicking off the holiday season early this year, with a $10,000 pledge to local community groups for the Thanksgiving season. The Bank also announced that its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will begin on Friday, October 29th. Canned goods and non-perishable food items will be collected at all 16 Washington Trust branch locations in Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut through Saturday, November 6th.
"Washington Trust is happy to once again coordinate these local food drives to help our neighbors this holiday season," said John C. Warren, Chairman and CEO of The Washington Trust Company. "We are also pleased to provide a check for $1,000 to each of the ten community groups for which we are collecting canned goods. The groups can use the funds to buy turkeys and other trimmings for holiday meals."
Washington Trust customers, employees and members of the community are invited to bring canned goods and non-perishable items to the following branch locations during regular banking hours:
