Westerly, Rhode Island... Washington Trust is now distributing its 2005 calendar free-of-charge at each of the Bank's sixteen offices in Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut. Each year the Bank selects a different theme and distributes more than 20,000 calendars to customers, friends and neighbors free-of-charge. The Bank's 2005 calendar is entitled "Favorite Pets" and features a different pet each month and includes dogs, cats, horses, birds and even a baby llama.
The Bank held a contest earlier this year asking customers and members of the community to submit their favorite pet photos. "We received an overwhelming response to our call for entries," stated Elizabeth B. Eckel, senior vice president of marketing. Adding, "The selection was extremely difficult, as we received hundreds of photos from throughout New England."
Washington Trust made a $50 donation to the local animal groups and shelters in the names of the pets (and their owners) featured in the 2005 calendar. The following shelters received a contribution from the Bank: Stand Up For Animals (Westerly); Exeter Animal Shelter; East Greenwich Animal Shelter; Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island; Hopkinton Shelter; Warwick Shelter; Potter League for Animals (Middletown); and Tip Top Kennels (South Kingstown).
