Washington Trust Awarded State of Rhode Island ATM Contract
Westerly, Rhode Island... The Washington Trust Company announced today that it has been awarded a three-year ATM contract with The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The agreement allows Washington Trust to place ATMs in all Rhode Island State buildings, including the Registry of Motor Vehicles, as well as State colleges, universities and administrative offices. The agreement also allows any Rhode Island municipality to place Washington Trust ATMs in their public buildings and schools."We're honored to have been selected as the ATM provider for the State of Rhode Island," said John C. Warren, Chairman and CEO of The Washington Trust Company. Adding, "As the largest bank headquartered in Rhode Island, expansion of our ATM network is critical to serving the financial needs of our customers throughout the State."
"Making state government more customer friendly is one of my primary goals as Governor," said Governor Donald L. Carcieri. "As part of our commitment to enhancing customer service, we are excited to enable our residents to use ATMs in many of our public buildings. It's another example of meeting the ongoing needs for the people doing business with state government."
In August 2004, Washington Trust announced that the Bank had reached an agreement to install ATMs in all 48 Brooks Pharmacy stores located throughout Rhode Island and in several stores in southeastern Massachusetts and Connecticut.
