Washington Trust Wealth Management Teaches Students About Stock Market

Westerly, Rhode Island... Members of Washington Trust Wealth Management have been visiting schools throughout Rhode Island to speak to students about investing and financial markets. The school visits are part of the Bank's sponsorship of the Stock Market Game for the 2004 - 2005 school year in Rhode Island. In Rhode Island, the Stock Market Game is coordinated by the Providence Journal and is part of their Newspaper in Education program.

The Stock Market Game, an online educational program, takes place at schools throughout the country. In Rhode Island more than 900 students in grades four through college are participating. Washington Trust Wealth Management's staff will speak to 13 of the participating classes (355 students) during the fall Game, which ends December 9. The spring game will begin on February 6, 2006.


Gary J. Friedmann, vice president and investment officer, Washington Trust Wealth Management, recently spoke to 8th grade students at Monsignor Clarke Regional Catholic School in Wakefield about investing and the financial markets.
