Washington Trust Hires New Assistant Vice President
August 2, 2006 (Westerly, RI) .
. . . Maureen J. Bjorkland, of Ashaway, R.I., has been
named assistant vice president, accounting officer for The Washington
Trust Company. Bjorkland, who works out of the Bank's Main Office
in Westerly, is responsible for preparation of SEC filings, Sarbanes
Oxley compliance and documentation, and financial statement preparation.
Bjorkland holds a B.S. from the University of Connecticut and a M.B.A.
from the University of New Haven. She is a member of the American
Society of Women in Accountancy and a Certified Management Accountant.
