November 29, 2006 (Westerly, RI). . . Representatives from The Washington Trust Company presented “The Washington Trust Team Leadership Award” to two seniors at the annual Thanksgiving Day football game at Westerly High School. The 2006 award recipients were James Lathrop of Westerly High School and John Connelly of Stonington High School.
The seniors were selected by their coaches because they attend every game and practice with heart, dedication and enthusiasm, always put the team first, continually possess and maintain a good attitude, and exhibit team spirit.
“We’re pleased to be part of recognizing these young role models and leaders in our community,” said John C. Warren, chairman and CEO of Washington Trust. “These young men are fine examples of top students and athletes.”
Joseph M. Confessore, vice president, commercial lending and Paul D. Nunes, vice president, business development, presented the players with a trophy at the post game award ceremony. The Bank will also make a $100 donation to the charity of each player’s choice.
