Washington Trust Announces Promotions

July 12, 2007 (Westerly, RI). . . Janell M. Hayes, of Westerly, R.I., has been promoted to assistant vice president and mortgage officer at The Washington Trust Company. Hayes joined the Bank in November 2002 as a servicing specialist in the Secondary Market Department. She became an outside mortgage originator in 2004, and was promoted to mortgage officer in 2005. She is responsible for the origination of mortgage and equity loans through outside business development efforts. Hayes has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island. She is a member of the Mystic Rotary Club, and an advisor for the Mystic Interact Club.

Maria Solis Lizzi, of Warwick, R.I., has been promoted to corporate planning officer in the Bank’s Treasury department. Lizzi interned at the Bank in 2003, while a student at the University of Rhode Island and worked as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers following her 2004 graduation. In 2005, she returned to the Bank as a management trainee, working several months with the Commercial Lending team prior to joining the Treasury staff in early 2006. Lizzi provides support for ALCO modeling, budget and forecast reporting, profitability analysis, cash management, MIS reporting, and several key Bank initiatives. She is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of Rhode Island.
