August 8, 2007 (Westerly, RI). . . Lawrence W. Orlando, of Westerly, R.I., has been promoted to assistant vice president, buildings and facilities, at The Washington Trust Company. Orlando joined the Bank in April 1990 as a maintenance assistant and was promoted to assistant facilities supervisor in 1996 and facilities supervisor in 2000. He became an officer in 2001 and was promoted to facilities manager. Orlando is responsible for supervising the facilities staff, as well as managing relationships with outside vendors and tenants. In 1999 he received the Washington Trust Community Service Award, and in 2007, received the Spirit of Washington Trust Award. He is a board member for Westerly Track & Athletic Club, a volunteer and site chair for Westerly Land Trust, and an exempt member of the Westerly Fire Department.
