Washington Trust Sponsors Clean Up of Napatree Point
Officers of the Bank Will Take Part in the 23rd Annual Coastal Cleanup
 for Audubon Society of RI

August 24, 2007 (Westerly, RI). . . On Thursday, September 13, The Washington Trust Company will participate in the 23rd Annual International Coastal Cleanup by holding one of its “Dare to Care Days” at Napatree Point in Watch Hill. The actual date for the International Coastal Cleanup is Saturday, September 15, but as one of the event sponsors, the Bank has made arrangements with the Audubon Society to set up its own clean up day for Bank officers.

Washington Trust holds several “Dare to Care Day” projects — group volunteer projects held on weekdays for officers of the Bank to participate in — several times throughout the year as part of its employee volunteerism program.

The International Coastal Cleanup, organized by the Audubon Society of Rhode Island, is held each year on the third Saturday of September and is administered by The Ocean Conservancy, a Washington, D.C. based advocate for marine issues. In addition to the 82 sites in Rhode Island, the International Coastal Cleanup will occur in 100 countries outside the U. S.
