December 19, 2007, Westerly, R.I.... The Washington Trust Company is making the holidays a little brighter for more than 29 families in need in Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut. Bank employees “adopted” families, purchased “wish list” items for the families and donated them anonymously. The employees also made monetary donations to local nonprofits and community groups that provide assistance to families in need.
“The generosity of Washington Trust employees is shown through their desire to make the holidays happier for local families in need,” said John C. Warren, chairman and chief executive officer of Washington Trust. “Assisting the local agencies makes the holidays special not just for the families who receive the gifts, but for our employees as well.”
