Washington Trust To Donate $11,000 To Local Food Banks
- A Food Drive Will Also Be Held at all 17 Branches-

 

October 27, 2008 (Westerly, RI). . .The Washington Trust Company's Charitable Foundation is donating $11,000 to local community groups for the Thanksgiving season. The Bank will also hold its annual Food Drive from Monday, October 27 through Friday, November 7. Canned goods and non-perishable food items will be collected at all 17 Washington Trust branch locations in Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut.

“Washington Trust understands the need to stock local food pantries is greater than ever in our communities,” said John C. Warren, Washington Trust chairman and CEO. “We encourage our customers to bring non-perishable food items to our offices to benefit their neighbors.”

“We truly believe in the mission of these agencies and recognize the challenges they are facing this year,” said Dennis L. Algiere, Washington Trust senior vice president, chief compliance officer, and director of community affairs. “Now more than ever they need the community's assistance.”

Washington Trust customers, employees and members of the community are invited to bring canned goods and non-perishable items to the following branch locations during regular banking hours:
