Washington Trust's Charitable Contributions top $626,000

January 29, 2008 (Westerly, Rhode Island). . . The Washington Trust Company made contributions through its Charitable Foundation and Corporate Sponsorships, in excess of $626,000 for the 2007 year to more than 320 organizations in the Greater Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut area.

Charitable requests are received annually and awarded to organizations and critical needs in our market area. Primary consideration is given to programs or projects that directly benefit the communities in which Washington Trust operates.
