Washington Trust Hires New Branch Manager

May 20, 2008 (Westerly, Rhode Island). . .Michael G. Fortin, of Exeter, R.I., has joined The Washington Trust Company as vice president, branch manager of the Bank's North Kingstown branch at 7625 Post Road. He will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the branch, growing the branch's deposit base and loan portfolios and maintaining Washington Trust's active role in the community.

Fortin has more than 28 years of banking and management experience. His background includes managing various areas including Human Resources, Risk Management, Bank Operations, Product Management, Corporate Security and Auditing. He has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's in Business Administration from Bryant College, known today as Bryant University, and is a Certified Risk Professional (CRP).
