Washington Trust Investors Managing Director Receives Business Women Award

June 13, 2008 (Westerly, Rhode Island). . .The Washington Trust Company is proud to announce that Marie J. Langlois, managing director for Washington Trust Investors, has been recognized as the top Business Women in the Financial Services Industry by Providence Business News. She will be honored at the Business Women Awards Luncheon on June 25th at Bryant University.

The Business Women Award is the second part of a year-long program highlighting the accomplishments of women in the Rhode Island business community. Providence Business News has named 12 new honorees to accompany the women profiled in the newspaper since September.

Langlois was chosen for her leadership role as managing director for Washington Trust Investors, which she co-founded in 1988, and has grown to over one billion dollars in assets under management. She has more than 30 years of experience advising individuals, institutions and corporations. Langlois sits on the boards of Miriam Hospital, RI Philharmonic and Music School and Tockwotton Home, and she is a member of the Champlin Foundation Distribution Committee. She is a former Vice Chancellor of Brown University, and was one of the first women to graduate from Harvard Business School.
