January 7, 2009 (Westerly, RI). . .John F. Treanor, president and chief operating officer of Washington Trust , recently presented a check for five thousand dollars to John M. Kelly, president and CEO of The Meeting Street School. In addition, Washington Trust will be an hourly sponsor of the Meeting Street School telethon to be broadcast on WPRI-12, on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 7 – 11 pm.
Treanor and several Washington Trust employees will accept donations during the 7 – 8 p.m. hour of the telethon, which will broadcast live from the Meeting Street School in Providence. Treanor is the chairman of the board of trustees for Meeting Street.
"The staff of Meeting Street are extremely involved with the caring and education of their students," remarked Treanor. "The positive energy and student-to-staff dynamic is evident upon entering the facility."
