Washington Trust Announces Promotions

January 9, 2009 (Westerly, RI). . .Washington Trust announces the following employee promotions:

Melanie A. Connelly, a resident of Charlestown, R.I., has been promoted to branch operations officer. Connelly joined the Bank in 1999 as a pro-team associate. She was promoted to head teller in 2000, and to assistant branch manager in 2005. Connelly assists the sales & service team, as well as performing teller functions. She is a Certified Professional Teller, and has completed the Bank's Management Certification Program.

Kim L. Kaplan, a resident of Cranston, R.I., has been promoted to lending support officer. Kaplan joined the Bank in 2008 as the lending support manager in the secondary market department. She has more than 10 years of mortgage lending, banking and management experience. She is responsible for the supervision of investor reporting and remitting for all investors, and the escrow and insurance functions of the department. Kaplan has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island.

Donna M. Massiwer, a resident of West Greenwich, R.I., has been promoted to accounts payable officer. Massiwer joined the Bank in 2004 as the deposit operations supervisor. In 2006, she became an accounts payable specialist in the financial administration department. She is responsible for preparing and paying invoices and employee reimbursement requests, maintaining the accounts payable system, and preparing periodic sales and use tax reports.
