January 9, 2009 (Westerly, RI). . .William P. Arena, of Portsmouth, R.I., has joined Washington Trust as assistant vice president, mortgage lending. He will be responsible for residential loan and deposit services for the East Bay, Aquidneck Island, R.I., and Southeastern Massachusetts areas.
Arena has more than 12 years of mortgage and sales experience. His positions included mortgage processor, senior loan officer and owner of the former Harvest Mortgage Group, LLC of Portsmouth, R.I. He studied commercial banking and aviation at Northeast Louisiana University, after serving three years in the United States Marine Corps.
