Washington Trust will hold a free eWaste Recycling day on Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 12 - 3 p.m. at the Bank's Cranston branch located at 645 Reservoir Avenue. ETM Green of Cranston will set up their Ewaste Technology Management truck in the Bank's parking lot, where community members may bring their old electronics, including computer monitors and hard drives.
There will be no charge for most electronics, however a nominal fee will be charged for copiers/printers and televisions. Washington Trust is asking community members to bring a jar of peanut butter to support the RI Community Food Bank.
All items electronic items collected will be broken down into parts and raw materials for recycling or re-use, resulting in zero ewaste to local landfills. Customers will receive a certificate of destruction for all hard drives.
