Washington Trust was recently presented with an Environmental Award by Cintas® Document Management, for its recycling efforts, commitment to protecting the environment and preserving natural resources. Washington Trust recycles approximately 5,000 pounds of paper per week.
Cintas® performs secure document shredding services for the Bank. Once the documents are shredded, they are taken to a secure recycling facility and converted into recycled products. Washington Trust's recycling efforts have saved 2,975 trees, 525 cubic yards of landfill, 350 barrels of oil, and 1.2 million gallons of water, during the June 2008 to May 2009 period.
