Washington Trust to Hold Free eWaste Recycling Day

Washington Trust will hold a free eWaste Recycling day on Saturday, August 15, 2009, from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Bank's Franklin Street Branch at 126 Franklin Street in Westerly. ETM Green of Cranston will set up their Ewaste Technology Management truck in the Bank's parking lot, where community members may bring their old electronics, including computer monitors and hard drives.

There will be no charge for most electronics, however a nominal fee will be charged for APC batteries and televisions. Washington Trust is asking community members to bring a non-perishable food item to support the Bradford Jonnycake Center.

All electronic items collected will be broken down into parts and raw materials for recycling or re-use, resulting in zero ewaste to local landfills. Customers will receive a certificate of destruction for all hard drives.
