Washington Trust Senior Vice President Receives Bank Technology Award

Perino

Bank Systems & Technology magazine announces that Barbara J. Perino, senior vice president, operations and technology for Washington Trust , has been named as one of Bank Systems & Technology's Elite 8 outstanding bank technology executives for 2009. Perino will be honored at an awards ceremony on October 5th in Pasadena, Calif. Each year the editors of Bank Systems & Technology recognize the most effective senior technology executives in banking. The editors select a handful of bank technology leaders who exemplify the spirit of innovation and teamwork that helps drive business success.

Perino was recognized for her role in overhauling legacy systems, developing customer insight capabilities and building an infrastructure that supports Washington Trust's growth strategies. "A lot of that is making sure we have the backbone and network infrastructure that is sufficient to support the growth we've experienced, to eliminate risk and manage risk by single points of failure," Perino says.

"Barbara has done a fine job making sure that Washington Trust is able to compete technologically with the big banks," said John C. Warren, chairman and CEO of Washington Trust.
