Washington Trust's annual mitten, glove and sock drive is now taking place in all 18 branch offices through December 24, 2009. The mittens, gloves and socks will decorate the Bank's holiday trees and fill a "sock box" under the trees. All items will be donated to local agencies at the end of the holiday season.
"This is another challenging year for many area families," said Elizabeth B. Eckel, senior vice president of marketing, Washington Trust. "We are happy to help families in need stay warm this winter."
The public is encouraged to bring new mittens, gloves and socks in all sizes to any Washington Trust branch throughout the holiday season.
