Westerly, Rhode Island...A photograph submitted by Coleen Carvalho of Cranston was chosen from hundreds of entries as the first winner of Washington Trust's “Summertime in Rhode Island” photo contest. The picture is titled “Fog'n fun with friends,” and captures a friend in mid-air air on a foggy day at Narragansett Beach. The photo exemplifies a carefree summer day in Rhode Island.
The “Summertime in Rhode Island” photo contest complements Washington Trust's current marketing campaign, which promotes the best of what Rhode Island has to offer, and engages the community in celebrating the Ocean State. Washington Trust has a history deeply embedded in Rhode Island, and takes pride in being both the oldest community bank in the nation and the largest independent bank in the state. The contest, like the bank's current campaign, showcases the array of treasures that can be found in Rhode Island.
Carvalho received a gift basket full of Rhode Island favorites valued at $100 for her winning photo. Other winners will be selected – one for each week in August – as a “judges' favorite.”
The contest runs through August 27th and is not limited to vacation photos or any specific time period, and entries can include both recent memories and favorites from the past. All entries must be made online at www.washtrust.com/summertime. In addition to uploading digital photos, contestants will also find a complete listing of the rules for the contest.
