Matthew S. Blank, of Providence, Rhode Island’s East Side has been hired as Director of Investments for Washington Trust Investors and will be responsible for managing the portfolios of not-for-profit groups and pension accounts. Matthew has more than 25 years of experience and most recently served as Senior Vice President, Director of Investment Research with Citizens Bank, Rhode Island. He also held the position of Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager for Sumitomo Life America in New York City. Matthew has an MBA from the University of California, Berkley, and a BA from Brown University.
Veronica Ferro of Walpole, Massachusetts, or Ronnie, as she is known to her colleagues and clients, joins Washington Trust Investors as Director of Investments. She has more than 27 years of wealth management experience and began her career with Fidelity Investments in Boston as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President. Ronnie most recently served as a Managing Director and Division Executive with US Trust Bank of America, responsible for a team of portfolio managers in charge of $12 billion in assets. She is a graduate of Boston College and a Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CFTA and is an active member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, Investment Management Consultants Organization and the Institute of Certified Bankers.
Aaron Simmons, of Westerly, Rhode Island has been hired as Director of Investments at Washington Trust Investors and is responsible for managing client investment portfolios. Aaron joined Washington Trust from StrategicPoint in Providence where he served as Vice President of Client Services. He was also previously employed as Vice President with Prudential Securities. Aaron holds a BA from Brown University and possesses Series 7, 63, 65 Life & Health Insurance licenses in Rhode Island. He serves on the Membership Committee of the Westerly Land Trust, is a Trustee of the Shepard W. Simmons Memorial Scholarship fund and volunteers for Rhode Island Special Olympics.
