Washington Donates $12,000 to Local Food Banks and Hundreds of Non-Perishable Food Items

Westerly, Rhode Island... The Washington Trust Charitable Foundation recently donated $12,000 to local food pantries in the communities the Bank serves in Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut season. Washington Trust employees also donated hundreds of canned goods and non-perishable food items to the pantries for local families in need during the upcoming holiday season.

Bank employees delivered $1,000 checks and items for Thanksgiving baskets to the following organizations:

• Block Island: Helping Hands of Block Island
• Charlestown: Rhode Island Center Assisting Those in Need
• Cranston: Comprehensive Community Action in Cranston
• Hope Valley: Wood River Health Services
• North Kingstown: North Kingstown Food Pantry
• Peace Dale: Jonnycake Center
• Providence: Intown Churches Association
• Rumford: Bread of Life Food Pantry in Rumford
• Warwick: Westbay Community Action
• Westerly: W.A.R.M. Shelter and Jonnycake Center
• Connecticut: Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center in Pawcatuck
