Westerly, Rhode Island... Washington Trust helped brighten the holidays for nearly 40 families and hundreds of children in need in Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut. Bank employees “adopted” families through local nonprofit organizations and churches and purchased hundreds of gifts including: clothing, toys, games, and gift cards. Non-profit organizations provided Washington Trust with sizes, ages, and wish lists for local families in need and Bank employees donated “anonymously”.
“During these extremely difficult times, Washington Trust employees were extremely generous in helping to make the holiday season easier for many local families,” said Elizabeth B. Eckel, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Washington Trust.
“The Adopt-A-Family donation from The Washington Trust Company allowed Providence families to have a brighter holiday,” said Annmarie Sawyer of the YMCA of Greater Providence. “The YMCA works primarily with families who are struggling financially and don’t have any extra money for the holidays. The parents were absolutely thrilled that there would be presents under the tree for their children and so thankful for the generosity of the Washington Trust staff.”
