Washington Trust Recognizes Bank Employees for Spirit & Community Service

Westerly, Rhode Island... Washington Trust recently recognized three employees for standout performances both on the job and in the community. The individuals were honored with awards at the bank’s annual Employee Fest, an event that celebrates the overall service and dedication of Washington Trust employees and puts the spotlight on exemplary team members who are recognized by their colleagues.

Mary Beth Fusaro, Senior Retail Banker, of Westerly, and Robert Richards, Facilities Associate, of Westerly, each earned The Spirit of Washington Trust Award. This award recognizes employees who, by example or through contributions, clearly distinguish themselves as role models for others. This award embodies what makes Washington Trust a special place and what it means to be a Washington Trust employee. Criteria for award selection include service excellence, teamwork, and exemplifying the company’s core values of community, integrity and quality in their performance.

Fusaro, who joined the Bank in 1992, was nominated by her peers for “displaying a pleasant demeanor, upbeat attitude, and work ethic that has had a positive effect on her co-workers in the Main Office branch.” Fusaro has always exceeded her goals and consistently earned top performance awards for her work. She also has a very loyal customer base due to her excellent customer service skills.

Richards, who joined the Bank in 2002, was recognized for going above and beyond, and always taking the initiative to help his co-workers and Bank customers. Richards was described as “the kind of person that makes Washington Trust a nice place to work, with a dedication and positive energy to which everyone should aspire.”

Lori Siciliano, Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending, of Westerly, received the Community Service Award which is given to an employee who has made significant contributions to the local community through their personal donations of time, talent, and/or fundraising. The Award recognizes that, through their community involvement, the employee has represented the Bank’s core value of “community” and has therefore served as a role model for their fellow employees. The Award also recognizes that the employee has gone above and beyond by making these commitments and contributions outside of their typical work hours.

Siciliano has participated in numerous community events throughout the Bank’s Reach for the Stars Employee Volunteer Program. She has served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the American Heart Association’s Heartwalk, and the WARM Shelter. Her nomination stated that “she is consistently one of the first people to sign up for volunteer events and makes the extra effort to be involved.” She also is a member of the choir within her local church.

“It is an honor to recognize Robbie, Mary Beth and Lori, as they truly embody the spirit and values of Washington Trust,” said Washington Trust Chairman, President and CEO Joseph J. MarcAurele. “To be recognized by your peers is one of the greatest compliments anyone can receive and these three individuals have earned that respect.”
