Washington Trust Plans to Close Connecticut Branch

Olde Mistick Village Branch Slated to Close in September 2012

Westerly, Rhode Island... Washington Trust Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select: WASH), the publicly-owned holding company of The Washington Trust Company, today announced that the Bank will close the branch located in Olde Mistick Village in Mystic, Connecticut at the end of the business day on Friday, September 28, 2012. Washington Trust customers may continue to conduct their banking at the Bank’s other Mystic, Connecticut branch, located in McQuade’s Marketplace at 14 Clara Drive, directly across the street from Olde Mistick Village. Employees from the Olde Mistick Village branch will assume other banking positions within the Bank.
