Joan joined the Washington Trust team in 2010 with over 20 years of institutional asset management experience. She previously served as the Chief Investment Officer of the State of Rhode Island’s Treasury Department, managing the investment portfolio of the state’s public pension plan. She began her investment career in Washington, DC with NASDAQ and the International City Manager’s Association Retirement Corp. (ICMA-RC). Joan is a graduate of Boston College and earned a M.S. in Finance from Loyola College. She serves on the Investment Committees of Lifespan and Care New England and, as Treasurer of the Providence Public Library, she also serves on the library’s Finance and Pension Committees.
