Washington Trust Announces Initiatives in Response to COVID-19

March 20, 2020 - Washington Trust today announced several initiatives to ensure the health, safety and well-being of its employees, customers and the community in response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak. In compliance with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) recommendation to invoke “social distancing” and curtail the spread of the virus, the Bank announced that branch lobbies would be temporarily closed until further notice, but drive-up banking would operate during regular business hours.

Washington Trust Provides $10 Million to Berkeley Partners for Marlborough Industrial Building

Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate Group recently provided $10 million to an affiliate of Berkeley Partners, for financing of a 144,784 square foot industrial building in Marlborough.

Washington Trust Provides $5.7 Million to Lexmar Realty, LLC for Construction of Office Headquarters

Milford, CT - Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate Group recently provided $5.7 million to Lexmar Realty, LLC, for the construction and permanent financing of a new 23,293 square foot office building at 100 Plains Road in Milford. This new location benefits from its I-95 frontage and is about 15 miles southwest of New Haven Central Business District and about 30 miles northwest of the Stamford Central Business District.

Washington Trust Provides $13.9 Million to Storrs Property Group/ Willington Property Group for Renovation of UConn Off-campus Housing

Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate Group recently provided $13.9 million to Storrs Property Group/ Willington Property Group LLCs, for financing and the renovation of two student apartment complexes near the UConn Storrs Campus.

Washington Trust Provides $15.4 Million in Commercial Financing for Acquisition of Office Building in Norwood, MA

Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate Group provided $15.4 million to a Massachusetts based developer for the acquisition of a 130,000 square-foot office building in Norwood, Massachusetts. Located at the intersection of Route 1 and University Avenue in Norwood, the property includes 24 acres of land across three continuous parcels. The building, constructed in 1980, spans the property and contains 132,457 square-feet of office space as well as an onsite café and gym.

Washington Trust Presents 2019 Team Leadership Award

On Thursday, November 28th, The Washington Trust Company presented the 2019 “Washington Trust Team Leadership Award” to Antonio Reale of Stonington High School and Rocco Cillino of Westerly High School as part of the annual Westerly High School vs. Stonington High School Thanksgiving Day football game. The annual “Washington Trust Team Leadership Award” celebrates those students who are dedicated to their teammates, continually possess and maintain a positive attitude, and exhibit team spirit. Reale and Cillino were selected by their coaches for serving as positive role models, loyal sportsmen, and leaders on their respective teams and in their community.

Washington Trust Helps Fight Hunger in Southern New England

Each year during the holiday season, The Washington Trust Charitable Foundation presents $500 checks to food pantries located across the Southern New England communities in which the bank serves. This year, 19 checks were distributed, totaling $9,500 in donations.

Washington Trust Promotes Daniel Orovitz to Vice President of the Bank’s Cash Management Division

Washington Trust Provides $22.5 Million in Financing for Office and Flex Portfolio in Newton, MA

November 8, 2017 - Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate Group recently provided $22.5 million in financing to Chapel Business Partners, LLC, and SDC Watertown Partners, LLC, for the refinancing of an office and flex portfolio in Newton, Massachusetts. The portfolio is comprised on a 78,187 square-foot office building at 59-85 Chapel Street, a 32,000 square-foot flex/office building at 85 School Street and an 11,300 square-foot flex/office building at 165 Dexter Street.
