Julia Anne Slom

Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Real Estate Lending Officer

Julia Anne serves as one of the Bank’s two Chief Lending Officers as well as leads Washington Trust’s Commercial Real Estate Lending and Small Business Lending teams. Her teams are focused on retention and growth of the Company’s CRE loan portfolio as well as the outreach, support and loan development for small businesses throughout the Bank’s tri-state footprint.

Julia Anne has more than 35 years of experience in the business, real estate and banking sectors. Prior to joining Washington Trust, she spent several years working in international trade, and banking as a Relationship management primarily in Corporate Banking. She began her career with Washington Trust as a Relationship Manager and was promoted into various roles since, joining the senior management team in 2003. In 2013, Julia Anne developed the business plan for and subsequently launched the Commercial Real Estate Lending Group at Washington Trust. Since that time, the business line has grown into a team of more than 10 lending professionals and has seen significant success throughout New England.

Julia Anne holds an MBA from the University of Rhode Island and a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College. She is also an alumna of Leadership Rhode Island.

A Rhode Island resident, Julia Anne is very active in the communities that Washington Trust serves. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Grow Smart RI and the Board of Trustees for Trinity Repertory Company, where she is also on the Finance and Facilities Committees. Julia Anne is also a member of the Advisory Board for LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) and its related Credit Committee, as a member of Christ the King Parish's Finance Council and on the Advisory Board for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Providence and East Bay. Julia Anne is also a member of The Providence Foundation, REFA (Real Estate Finance Association), NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties) and Risk Management Association (RMA). She is an active member of the Boston Chapter of Commercial Women in Real Estate (CREW) and is also a member of the American Bankers Association (ABA) where she serves on the Commercial Real Estate Lending Committee.
