Affordable Housing Programs

Washington Trust is committed to helping borrowers purchase their own homes. We work closely with the borrowers and with organizations such as the Federal Housing Authority, Rhode Island Housing and Habitat for Humanity. With Rhode Island Housing, we co-sponsor First-Time Homebuyer seminars to help borrowers understand the many aspects of the home buying process, including credit criteria, budgeting, and the responsibilities of homeownership. For graduates of the homeownership program, Washington Trust offers borrowers a $100 credit toward application fees.
