Washington Trust names leaders of new Pawtucket branch opening this fall

June 10, 2026

WESTERLY, R.I. — The Washington Trust Company (Washington Trust) today announced the leadership of its newest branch opening in Pawtucket this fall.  Two current employees have been named to the top roles at the bank’s 29th branch: Scott Haggerty will serve as vice president and branch manager, and Jesse Gamez will serve as assistant branch manager.

Scott Haggerty, Vice President and Branch Manager

Haggerty is currently vice president and branch manager of Washington Trust’s Rumford location and brings a deep understanding of the local market along with a proven track record of performance, leadership, and community engagement.  He has been with Washington Trust since 2010, beginning his career as a mortgage loan officer before advancing into retail leadership. With more than 15 years of experience in the banking industry, he has extensive expertise in lending, customer relationship management and branch operations.

Gamez is currently a retail banking supervisor at Washington Trust, where he manages a team of relationship bankers and provides operational support across multiple branches. In this role, he regularly engages with customers to identify opportunities to improve service and operational efficiency. Gamez brings prior relationship management experience and is bilingual in English and Spanish.  He joined Washington Trust in October 2025.

Jesse Gamez, Assistant Branch Manager

“We look forward to bringing a physical presence to Pawtucket with our new branch and providing more options for banking and greater convenience for those we serve,” said Washington Trust Chairman and CEO Ned Handy. “Scott, Jesse and their team are excited to build relationships in the community and deliver the personalized service, trusted advice and local support that have defined our bank for more than 225 years.”

The Pawtucket branch underscores Washington Trust’s commitment to providing convenient, community-focused banking services to individuals, families, and businesses while supporting the economic vitality of the region.  Located at 433 Broadway, the branch is adjacent to a RIPTA bus stop and less than a quarter mile from on- and off-ramps to Interstate 95.  It will be staffed by bankers fluent in English and Spanish, making it Washington Trust’s second bilingual location, following the Olneyville branch in Providence.
