Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Jim leads Washington Trust’s bank operations and technology teams and serves as the Bank’s Chief Information Officer. His teams are focused on the retail and commercial divisions of the Bank, supporting both the internal and external customer functions to deliver a superior experience by leveraging technology, pursuing innovative solutions, and ensuring our systems are resilient.
Jim has more than 35 years of experience in the financial, technology auditing, and banking industries. He has extensive expertise in technology deployment, information technology risk management and information security policies and programs. He began his career with Washington Trust in 2016 as the Chief Information Security Officer, where he assumed leadership of the information security, enterprise risk and business continuity functions. Prior to joining Washington Trust, he served as Vice President, Corporate Information Security at State Street Corporation and Senior Vice President of information risk at Citizens Bank.
Jim holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island.
A Rhode Island resident, Jim is very active in the communities that Washington Trust serves. He is a long-time volunteer and supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is a past Board and Committee member of the Barrington Christian Academy, League of Women Voters and The Music School.
