Scott McCaughey
Senior Vice President and Team Leader, Commercial Banking
Scott is Senior Vice President and Team Leader for the C&I Commercial Banking and Business Banking divisions of the Bank. His teams are responsible for developing and maintaining commercial banking relationships, as well as outreach, support and loan development for businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout the Bank’s market area. Scott has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry, with extensive experience in asset-based lending, middle market C&I lending, and nonprofit lending. Scott has specific expertise in supporting the education and franchise lending industries. In 2016, he created and subsequently established and managed the Senior Housing division focusing on assisted living and memory care facilities at the Bank. Prior to joining Washington Trust, Scott was a relationship manager at Citizens Bank and Bank of America.
Scott holds a bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College. A Rhode Island resident, Scott is active in the communities that Washington Trust serves. He currently serves on advisory board at Saint Joseph School in West Warwick. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of the 76 Foundation, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and the Warwick Soccer Association, and has coached both soccer and basketball in the Catholic Athletic League for more than 10 years.
