Washington Trust Holds Ribbon Cutting for Newest Branch in Barrington, RI

On Friday, April 21st, 2023, Washington Trust celebrated the opening of their newest branch location, located at 236 County Rd in Barrington, RI. This marks the Bank’s 26th branch office, expanding the Company’s presence in Rhode Island’s East Bay region.
Washington Trust Chairman and CEO Edward O. “Ned” Handy and President and COO Mark Gim were joined by local dignitaries from the Town of Barrington and the East Bay Chamber of Commerce, among other local community leaders.
At the ceremony, Ned Handy, Mark Gim, and Branch Manager Michael Geoghegan presented a $1,000 check to Shauna Hyde, President of local hunger relief agency TAP-IN, the branch’s first community partner in the area. TAP-IN also received a donation of more than 150 jars of peanut butter that were collected during the Bank’s 23rd Annual Peanut Butter Drive last month.
Also in attendance from Washington Trust were Mary Noons, Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Retail Lending Officer and incoming President and COO, Deb Gormley, Executive Vice President of Retail Banking, and other members of the Bank’s Senior Management team.
